President
Dr Jonathan Benjamin
Jonathan Benjamin is a Professor of Maritime Archaeology at Flinders University in South Australia where he is the academic coordinator for the Professional Scientific Diver Micro-credential that provides an accredited occupational diver qualification to its graduates. Jonathan is an experienced underwater archaeologist and has worked on coastal and marine archaeological surveys and excavations in Europe, North America, Asia and Australia.
Vice President
Jane Ruckert
Jane is the principal diving officer at the University of Tasmania. She is an experienced scientific diver and currently working on completing her Honours degree in Marine and Antarctic Studies. Jane holds instructor ratings with TDI, SDI and is a PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer with 5 years’ experience in diver training teaching a wide range of specialities. Jane is a passionate advocate for the Tasmanian recreational diving scene and is incredibly generous with her time in helping people enjoy our sport.
Secretary
Gwenael Cadiou
Gwenael is an aquatic ecologist with experience gained in Europe and Australia. He is currently a Fisheries Scientist at the Department Regional NSW. Gwen has 25 years of scientific and occupational diving experience conducting diverse marine and freshwater surveys, sampling and monitoring.

Simon Talbot
Simon Talbot has over three decades of experience in Scientific Diving. Based in Tasmania, previously worked for UTAS and is the founder of ANZSDA. He provides high level advice to several domestic and international committees on Occupational, Technical and Scientific Diving.
Media Officer
Tess Hoinville
Tess Hoinville is a Marine Scientist, and has a wealth of marine experience including occupational diving in both recreational and scientific sectors. She is Deakin University's Marine Technical Services Coordinator and spends any spare time taking photos underwater or conducting citizen science using Reef Life Surveys.
Treasurer
Rochelle Johnston
Rochelle is a Marine Ecologist with a strong focus in scientific diving. Having worked internationally on many coral and turtle conservation projects, she is now the Diving and Boating Officer at the University of New South Wales. Rochelle is the Scientific Diving representative for the Australian Marine Sciences Association and a member of the Standards Australia Scientific Diving Committee
